Premium Leather Knife Sharpening Strop for Woodworking

Crafted with Precision in Poland: This leather strop for knife sharpening is made from the finest quality 3mm (1/8") vegetable leather, bark-tanned in the Podhale region following a 17th-century recipe. The hardwood paddle-shaped handle is crafted from Beechwood (Fagus sylvatica) sourced from the Carpathian mountain forests. We use only 100% wood from a well-managed forest, as confirmed by the FSC certificate. Both the leather and the handle are meticulously handcrafted into a premium sharpening strop to keep any knife or straight razor razor-sharp.

Generous in Size and Comfort: The large size of the strop and its expansive working surface provide flexibility when polishing the blade. The overall length is 320mm (12.6") and the width is 60mm (2.36"). The working area measures 206mm (8.11") in length and 56mm (2.17") in width. The double-sided paddle strop offers a choice between smooth and rough leather, catering to your personal preferences.

Versatile and User-Friendly: Apply your chosen polishing compound to one or both sides of the leather strop. Many customers prefer using white compounds on the rough side and green compounds on the smooth side, but you can experiment with coarser or finer grits to suit your needs. You can also leave the smooth side free of the compound for ultra-fine touch-ups. Always strop after sharpening your finest stone by pulling the blade backwards with light pressure, maintaining the same (or a slightly shallower) angle as you sharpened it.

Diverse Applications: This premium leather sharpening strop can be used for honing and buffing a wide range of tools, including straight razors, chisels, hunting knives, pocket knives, kitchen (chef's) knives, and many other implements that require the sharpest possible edge.

Specialized Honing Compounds: Included with the strop are a softening balm and four different grits of the Bacher polishing compound. Soft and easy to apply, these compounds are specifically designed for use on leather honing belts and strops. The balm softens and conditions the leather, thanks to the addition of lanolin and beeswax. The polishing compounds range from medium (Red 2000) to ultra-fine (Black 12000) in grit size, providing a comprehensive solution for your sharpening needs.
